Cricket in India is no less than a religion, cricket fans offering prayers for their teams to win and celebrating a victory with crackers says it all. The IPL fever may have come down but the idea and the inspiration from the event is contagious and has been carried forward in yet another exciting on-line series. Well, we are talking about the Indian Blogger League or IBL.
How it all started:
The idea of
starting a IBL among the bloggers of India was put forward by Deepak Karthik in
the Indiblogger community which became an instant hit with the bloggers all
over India. Binoy, Akshay Kumar G and Saravana Kumar Murugesan are the other
co-ordinators of the event.
What is it all about:
The name says it all. The IBL or the Indian Bloggers League is an event by the bloggers, for the bloggers, and of the bloggers. This blogging extravaganza, which is expected to run for several months, has many genres and rounds lined up. It aims to test the diverse skills and bring out the talents of the Indian bloggers in India and abroad.
The Teams:
IBL was modeled on the IPL format, so we have different teams from the different cities of our country. Eight teams are participating in this edition of IBL and they are: Chennai, Patna, Kolkatta, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Bangalore. The teams have the privilege of choosing their own name, designing their logo, banner et al.
